A kaleidoscope of fractured movement and scattered energy disappears and reappears in the seams of a six-paneled paper screen culminating in an anti-clim\ax of anxious, feeble flight. By giving physical form to the behaviors implied by the slang use of the title, chicken mirrors a psychology that has become increasingly prevalent in contemporary culture.
